Start Using the Windows Key – Find Any Program Instantly
Press the “Windows” key and search for any program, setting or file in Windows
*only works for Windows Vista and later
Benefit
Do you navigate through the start menu or scour your overcrowded desktop every time you need to open a program? Please stop doing this. If you’re running Windows Vista, 7 or 8, just hit the Windows key and search. Just type in “word”, “excel”, “calc”, pretty much anything you need to run. I haven’t navigated the start menu in years. You can also use this to search for files on your computer or settings that are found in the control panel. From now on, if you want to open something in Windows and it usually takes more than 2 clicks to find it, just try hitting the Windows key and searching for it
Can’t find the Windows key? It’s the one between the “Ctrl” and “Alt” key in the bottom left hand side of your keyboard
NOTE: You can also just click the “Start” menu and then search, if your hands are already on the mouse…..
Give it a try
Go ahead, hit the Windows key on your keyboard and type in “calc”. Hit enter, and see how quickly you just opened Windows calculator.
